A little bit more about me...

Profile pic_edited.jpg

At a friend’s wedding back in 2013, after a long ceremony that had all of us checking the time, two friends asked me over a glass of bubbles if I would be their celebrant the following year. I laughed at them, drank more bubbles, and then they reminded me the next day that they weren't joking. A year later I conducted their bilingual (English-German) wedding ceremony and was left buzzing at how special it was to pronounce them as newlyweds.

After writing eight more ceremonies for my friends and family over the years that followed, co-piloting with some beautiful celebrants, I eventually decided to take the leap and become qualified as a civil celebrant myself.

Now 10 years on from that glass of bubbles, I am loving all the celebrations that I get to be a part of.

Celebrating life, love and the people we live for.

When I’m not found ‘celebranting’, I am enjoying life, food, footy, kitchen dance parties and a good giggle with my wife Sarah and our daughters Farrah and Zoe.

A common feature of my life and career path is community. As a teacher, I’ve always enjoyed celebrating others’ milestones – and as a celebrant I get to do that on a much grander scale. I am a values-driven community development practitioner and am proud to have worked on peace building and sustainable curriculum development projects in my time. My life and work has taken me around the world, living and working in Germany, France and Rwanda. I am a lover of languages, too, so if you're wanting to incorporate a language other than English in your ceremony, let's do it.

Last but certainly not least, I am a proud queer woman, excited to be celebranting in a time of marriage equality in Australia. I'm here to be a part of your love and life story, no matter its shape, size or colour.  #LoveIsLove

Like what you've heard?

If you think we could be friends or more importantly that I'd be the right choice for your ceremony, contact me and let's meet.

Notes from my lovers...

LGBTIQA+ Flag
Aboriginal Flag
Torres Strait Islander flag

I value inclusivity, respect and accessibility, and my ceremonies are designed with these values at the forefront. If this aligns with your values, too, come celebrate with me!

I acknowledge the First Nations peoples of Australia as the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, love and celebrate. I pay my deep respects to Elders, past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
